Tools of the Trade: Pendulum

pendulumI will say I LOVE my pendulum. I have a fairly small one that is a chakra pendulum. It has stones corresponding with the chakras along the chain. At times it’s scarily accurate.

One thing I do when I start is I ask the pendulum to show me yes and no so I have a reference for whatever questions I’m going to ask.

My first practice pendulum was all metal. I got a kit at Barnes and Noble to see if I liked it before I bought one that felt right to me. I had it at work and one of the girls called across the cube saying, “Hey bring that oracle thingy over here.” Well I rolled my eyes and got up and walked over to her desk with my pendulum in hand. I held it by the top and opened my hand to let it ffall to it’s full length and the oddest thing happened. It broke. The chain just snapped. I looked at her and shook my head saying, “It’s called a pendulum…not ‘that oracle thingy’ and it obviously doesn’t like you. I promptly left her desk and went back to mine. I won’t pull my good one out around her.

Pendulums are good tools for basic yes/no either/or questions. They aren’t for things like “What is my future going to be like?” questions. That’s more of a tarot/runes or just a general psychic thing (no i don’t mean Miss Cleo)

I highly recommend checking out www.pendulumcharts.com for more information on them. I’ve contemplated a pendulum board but it reminds me a tad too much of Ouijia boards. After having some not so nice experiences with a Ouijia board I’m not really a fan of them. They are definitely not toys but that is a different article.
