Welcome To The Paranormal

I am so very excited to have joined the crew here at Modern Pagan, even more excited that I am an author and editor for the Paranormal section! To kick off this new release, I really wanted to share with you readers what I intend for this section.

I vow to make this one of the most objective sections when it comes to the Paranormal. All of us have our opinions, it is my goal to bring all aspects right here. No matter how I feel about them personally, it is my duty to bring new ideas and thoughts and let you decide how you feel about them. I want to question, poke, and prod without demeaning anyone or anything while doing so. I do not want people to view this area as one of the many one-sided viewpoints.

I want to share my own personal experiences and allow for others to share their own experiences. With sharing these experiences I hope others will feel open enough to comment or question (with respect naturally). At the same time I hope that we can all accept some criticism. I am not a person who simply pats the hand and says “Why yes you must have been possessed” or “You must have had a demon present in the home!” I try to be honest and forthright and I expect no less from our glorious readers.

As I continue investigating with my team or going on various paranormal trips, I hope to document as much as I can and report back to you. I will always ask for permission from the people I am investigating for and with beforehand. If you find out I was somewhere and never reported on it, feel free to ask. But, I do hold the right to refrain from revealing anything my associates don’t wish for me to reveal. It simply isn’t good for developing a great relationship with other investigators and home/site owners. I will say that I am currently trying to work out a trip to Waverly Hills Sanitarium in Lousiville, Ky. If I am successful I hope to report my experiences.

In the next few months I plan on interviewing other teams and investigators that I work with. I want to bring forth lessons we learned along our journeys, etiquette issues, and anything that can help you gain confidence in becoming an investigator (if that is what you wish to do).

Most importantly, I want you to communicate what it is you want to read about. If you have a suggestion for an event for me to attend, someone to interview, or my opinion on a specific topic, PLEASE just ask! I can’t guarantee that I can attend every event, interview everyone, or even post an opinion in a timely manner, but I will make every attempt to do so. Without readers, my articles are nothing. So your input is everything.

I look forward to this first week. I am kicking everything off with a three part segment about the scientific and psychic methods of investigation. I hope you come back and join me!

Being a life-long resident of Kentucky, I’ve grown up with stories and sightings at Waverly. It will be interesting to get your take on this hub of paranormal activity.

The paranormal is one area I am particularly looking forward to gaining more insight.

    Congrats on your first week!
