My Mirror

My friend, sister,
my mirror….
I see in you reflections of myself.
The depth of my loving heart,
The anger of my fear.
I see the burning fire of transformation,
and the pain of becoming.

I see the darkness.
The rage of frustration.
The fears that echo so loud.
The tears of pain and loss.
The doubts that tied my tongue,
and held in my truth.
Could you accept me if you only knew?

I see the beauty.
The love ever flowing.
The soft shoulder and whispers
of wisdom.
I see the strength and the power
and creative marvel of womanhood.

Through you I’m reminded of grace.
I can find a space of peace.
I open my heart to forgiveness.

For all that delights or disturbs
which I see in you
is held in my own soul.
And in your eyes,
I must face myself.

You, revealer of truths
I’d too often hidden.
You remind me.
You teach me.
You guide me.
And yet you point me
always to the wisdom within.
